Hi guys,
So in this blog I am reviewing Primark's Christmas collection. I have to say when I first heard about Primark coming out with its own makeup I was pretty convinced I wouldn't be trying it as its not a brand I would stock in my ever growing kit! However, after seeing the new Christmas collection, I thought I would give it a try and review it. I got 4 eye shadows, 3 metallic pigments and 2 highlighters for £17, talk about a bargain! My local Primark did not have the lipsticks, the liquid metal eyeshadow, or one of the highlighters. #sad I like the packaging, I think overall Primark has done a good job, its certainly not the most expensive looking but its pretty so I think it does the job, it's definitely giving me MAC vibes! The eyeshadows come in a light gold compact, 4 colours costing £1.50 each. I bought the shades Dusk, Cashmere, Nutmeg and Crimson. All the shades have a snowflake embossed on them, a nice touch. Dusk is a metallic mauve pink, Cashmere is a metallic light bronzey gold, Nutmeg is a metallic chocolate brown and Crimson is a metallic dark berry. I think the shade range is beautiful, they swatch well and are surprisingly pigmented. I think they will suit a range of skin tones and could be a welcomed addition to your makeup bag. The highlighters retail for £3.00 each, worth a trip to Primark for them alone! I really like the packaging of the highlighters, they come in a compact and the base is glitter, a really nice touch I think. I have to say, I'm not disappointed, they swatch lovely, are creamy and pigmented. I only managed to get 2 out of the 3 shades, Spotlight, a deep metallic gold and Goddess, a champagne gold. Again they are embossed with a snowflake. I am thoroughly impressed with the packaging of the pigments. Once you've unscrewed the lid, I was surprised to find there was little plastic lid, almost like a salt shaker so you can get out a little pigment at a time. What a fabulous idea, especially with loose pigment, there can be some disasters! The pigments come in a pack of 3, £5 for the set. There is a bronze, gold and pink. I was almost blown away when I swatched these beauties they glided on beautifully and were highly pigmented. Overall I am really impressed with this range. I have to admit I was not expecting a lot when I started writing about these but having swatched them I am thoroughly impressed. They are so affordable, the packaging is pretty and the products are highly pigmented, what more could you want from makeup! The products are super affordable and really accessible, they also appeal to all age ranges, because who doesn't like a bit of sparkle hey! Well done Primark, I think I may be a convert!
