So today, I'm giving you the low down on concealers!
When it comes to concealers, what is it that we are all after? I'd say the main reasons we're always on the hunt for amazing concealers is the following:
I think there is a real misconception that the more expensive the product, the better it must be. I've tried and tested expensive and inexpensive concealers and here are some of my favourites:
I have used each one on a daily basis and I have to say that my current favourite is definitely the Makeup Revolution Conceal and Define. It's appealing for several reasons, but mainly because of the price tag! It's considered to be the Tarte Shape Tape dupe and I have to say I agree! I love this for daily wear, it covers, conceals, brightens and does not look cakey. It comes in 18 shades, which means that you'll definitely get a colour match.
I found that the Maybelline Fit Me may be a little too yellow for my skin however it's definitely a good concealer and does the job. The Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer I found did crease a little, the nude colour in this was actually too dark for me so I had to buy the light one too, nevertheless it's a good match, I like the sponge applicator and for daily wear it definitely does the trick. I would say that the EX1 Delete Fluid Concealer is definitely the dupe for the Mac Pro Longwear, I love the consistency and once set correctly it will do the same job Mac, at a fraction of the price. I love this concealer but for me it is too yellow, I bought the shade 3.0, I will try the 2.0 and see if that is a better match. For me, Mac Pro Longwear is a staple concealer but too much for every day wear, the same for the Shape Tape and the Nars - although these are the concealers of choice for a full on glam look.
On the whole all of the concealers above are brilliant, they do what they say! I personally love that there are affordable brands that are easy to pick up on a trip to Superdrug's or Boots. Are they ones for the kit? That's a definite no from me, as much as I love the affordable concealers , clients are paying for 'luxury' brands to be used on their face, not the £4 one I picked up in Superdrug's, well that's my opinion anyway.
What do you think? Let me know in the comments.
All my love
